There’re a lot of ways out there that you could attempt to improve eyesight. Few of them are surely beneficial, some are just alright, and others are just a waste of time. How do you distinguish which is which?

That is my puzzle 2 years ago. Ever since then, I’ve carefully tried all the vision exercises I am aware of and charted my progress. How did they fare? My result shocked me.

Twenty percent of the vision therapy I tried was liable for eighty percent of my progress. I make note of those eye exercises and category them to what I called “the basics”. These eye exercises, I think, are the core of every vision improvement program.

In this article, I am going to tell you one of these eye exercises. It is called “palming”. It may sound too easy but believe me, it works. It goes like the following:

Make sure you’re sitting down for this eye exercises. Close your eyes and lightly place your palms on them, so that you can’t see light. Imagine the tense in your neck and shoulders are dissipating. Think of anything that relaxes you. It could be anything. A sandy beach? A quiet farm house surrounded by huge field of flowers, maybe.

While you palm, make sure you arrange a countdown device so that you do not be anxious about how long you have been doing it. Palm for a whole ten minutes, three times a day. Once when you get up in the break of the day, once during your short-break from work and once just before you go to sleep.

Palming at the beginning of the day allows you to install an expectation for the rest of the day. The one in the middle of the day allows your eyes to chill out and alleviate stress. While the one at night loosen your eyes and prepares it for sleep.
